Cuff and Leash: Peak Design’s Stylish Yet Functional Camera Straps

By AntĀ Pruitt

I really enjoyed putting the Everyday Backpack through its paces when Peak Design sent it over for review. The company did a really good job of thinking through the design of a backpack made for photographers. Recently, I was given a sneak peak at the company’s newest products — camera straps. I’ll be the first to state that I don’t use straps with my camera very often. For a lot of the shots I’m doing, the strap seems to get in my way. As much as I love tech, I don’t want the tech to get in the way of me creating content. I went ahead and spent time with these new products from Peak Design just to be fair. Check out the Cuff and the Leash.

The Leash

This is a slim strap you can attach to your DSLR or mirrorless camera. The Leash lets you wear your camera around your neck or shoulders when you are on the go. It offers quick-connect tabs allowing you to attach or detach it from your camera easily. The fine sewing on the strap makes it comfortable to wear around your neck and functional to wear as a sling meaning the strap doesn’t scrape or get stuck while sliding along your torso. You can get the leash for $39.99.

The Cuff

The cuff is more of my speed since I typically don’t wear camera straps. Conversely, the Cuff seems to be ideal and it stays out of my way. I love how it can be worn around my wrist like a bracelet when not in use. The quick-connect tabs on both the Cuff and Leash are super convenient and allow for support of up to 200 pounds of pressure. That’s plenty of strength to carry your heavy cameras. Get the Cuff for $29.99.
